Safeguarding

The designated safeguarding lead is Mrs J Adlington. Our deputy safeguarding leads are Mrs K Hogg and Mrs A Lockett and Ms T Wynne.

Harpfield Primary Academy is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for pupils, staff and visitors and promoting a climate where pupils and adults feel confident about sharing any concerns that they may have about their own safety or the wellbeing of others.

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility: all staff, Academy Council Members and volunteers must fulfil their full part in keeping children safe. We have a whole school approach to safeguarding. This means ensuring that safeguarding and child protection are at the forefront of, and underpin all, relevant processes and policy development and operate in the best interests of the child.

We follow a child-centred approach, informed by a clear understanding of the needs and views of children. We recognise the importance of enabling children to talk openly about anything that worries them, or to access well-publicised systems for reporting or disclosing abuse or harm, and to feel confident that they will be listened to.

If you have a concern related to one of our children or our families, please speak to one of our safeguarding leads.
